Fan Only Service

Starting at £275 +vat

Our fan only cleaning service is excellent for customers with very little to no ducting. The engineers will remove the fan, inspect the motor and clean the fan to a high standard. This service is good for customers with little to no ducting (less than 1 m). Not only does the fan service optimise performance of the fan, but it will also prolong the life of the motor.

What to expect

Firstly the engineer will turn on the extractor fan and check the suction of the system. They may then ask you a few questions about the system such as ‘when was it last cleaned?’. We advise customers to be 100% honest with our engineers as we must be strictly compliant with TR19 regulations. Before pictures will then be taken of the system and the engineers will get too work. Starting from the extractor, the engineers will work their way down the system, using access points if provided, spraying a foam agent designed to penetrate tough deposits of grease. Once softened, the engineers will then manually hand scrape the deposits of grease from the ductwork and scrub the pipe down to make sure all physical grease particles have been removed. A rotary brush will also be used if needed, depending on the consistency of the grease. Reminder, if the grease deposits have been carbonised, we may be unable to remove all physical grease particles, this would be due to poor maintenance of the system. They will then manually hand wipe the system ensuring the system is safe for use. The motor will also be inspected once the fan has been removed, during the inspection we check for burnt out coils, damaged bearings, damaged seals, corrosion and wiring faults. We can repair motors on site, however if the issue isn’t repairable we can also supply and fit new extraction fans. Once the engineers are happy the system is up to standard, after pictures will then be taken and shown to the customer. Once satisfied, the engineer will then issue a certificate, and take payment for the work via Cash, Card or BACS payment. If theres something the engineers are not happy about, a post report will be issued stating what needs to be done to be fully compliant with TR19. We encourage customers to listen carefully to the engineers and take their advice.

What are access points? How do i know if i have them?

Access panels must be fitted along the system, to ensure safe use and cleanliness. TR19 states 1 access point must be fitted for every 2 meters of ductwork, unless bends in the system prevent access, as a good standard of cleaning can only be achieved in 1 meter either side of the access panel. They must have seals and be able to fasten tightly to the ductwork to prevent leaks and to not encourage the spread of a fire. They should be visible on the ductwork and we advise customers to confirm the number of access points before booking in. This way we can provide a more accurate quotation for the work as we may have to install access panels on the day if needed. If the customer can whatsapp or email us pictures of the system over that would also be bonus.

My extractor fan has stopped working/lost power..

We provide a 24/7 Breakdown fan service! We understand how frustrating is can get when you’re in the middle of service and the fan stops working, therefore we have a 24/7 breakdown line ensuring your fan is up and running again as soon as possible. On arrival the engineers will perform a few tests to diagnose the issue. If possible the engineer will repair the motor there and then, if not the engineer will provide you with prices of replacement fans. If agreed, the engineer will then take a deposit and your new extractor will be up and running with the next 2 working days. We do also carry re-condtioned fans and can fit them on the same day.
